Part-time School Police Officer

The British International School of Houston is seeking to hire a Part-Time School Police Officer to provide visible security and a safety presence on private school grounds and assist school administration in maintaining a safe, orderly environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Schedule

Part-time hours, with duties primarily focused around school arrival, dismissal, and other assigned campus security needs.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide a professional law enforcement presence on campus during assigned hours.
• Assist with student arrival and dismissal, including directing or monitoring traffic and helping maintain safe vehicle flow.
• Monitor school grounds, entrances, parking areas, and other designated areas.
• Assist school staff with maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
• Respond appropriately to safety, security, or emergency situations.
• Observe and report suspicious or concerning activity to school administration and appropriate authorities when necessary.
• Assist with pedestrian and vehicle safety around the school campus.
• Maintain positive and professional relationships with students, parents, faculty, and staff.
• Perform other safety and security duties as assigned by school administration.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Current law enforcement certification or active/retired police officer status, as applicable.
• Professional demeanor and strong communication skills.
• Ability to interact appropriately with students and families.
• Sound judgment, dependability, and the ability to respond calmly to safety concerns.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with school personnel

Selection Process

All post holders in regulated activity (having regular unsupervised contact with children) are subject to appropriate national and international vetting procedures including satisfactory criminal record checks from both your country of residence/birth and any country of residence within the last 10 years.  We welcome applications from suitable persons from all diverse backgrounds.
