PA to General Counsel:
Our legal function is evolving, and fast. We’re growing, changing how we work and rethinking how Legal shows up across the business and the value it brings. The General Counsel’s office needs to lead that change, and we’re looking for someone who wants to help make it happen.
At the centre of it all, you’ll be the connective tissue: the person who frees the General Counsel to lead, think and decide at her best, and who helps her bring that vision to life across every time zone and every team.
This is an executive support role for people who see support as a craft. You’ll run the GC’s world with modern tools and smart systems: streamlining how her time, priorities, communications and information flow, using automation and AI-enabled tools where they genuinely help, and constantly asking how it could work better. You won’t just keep the diary in order. You’ll build the processes behind them and help sharpen how Legal is seen and experienced by the people it serves.
You’ll also be the first impression of the function for our board and shareholders. When directors, investors and senior leaders engage with Legal, you’re the polished, professional and trusted presence they meet first.
This isn’t traditional administrative support. It’s a chance to shape how a General Counsel’s office works in a transforming organisation, and to be the glue that makes it click.
In this role, you will:
- Act as a trusted and highly confidential partner to the General Counsel, providing seamless executive support and managing competing priorities.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Legal, Compliance, HR and the wider global organisation to support collaboration and effective decision-making.
- Manage a complex global diary, international travel arrangements and high-profile meetings across multiple time zones.
- Coordinate Board, Executive Committee and leadership meetings, including scheduling, logistics, preparation of materials, minute-taking and action tracking.
- Proactively support strategic priorities, ensuring deadlines, deliverables and key initiatives are effectively managed and executed.
- Prepare high-quality presentations, reports and board-level documentation for senior audiences.
- Drive team engagement initiatives and contribute to a positive, inclusive and high-performing team culture.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency and enhance organisational effectiveness.
- Manage expenses, administration, communications and data management with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Conduct research and provide timely insights to support business planning and decision-making.
- Exercise sound judgement, professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential matters.
See full job description, here.
We're looking for:
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role at a senior level
- Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities, exercise sound judgment, and operate with minimal supervision
- Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels
- Demonstrated discretion and integrity when handling highly confidential and sensitive information
- Extensive experience of working with Microsoft packages including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. In particular an excellent knowledge of using PowerPoint, contacts, mail merge and database management are essential
- Demonstrable ability to anticipate the needs of senior executives and operate as a highly trusted partner, exercising sound judgement, discretion and proactive problem-solving in a complex, fast-paced environment
- Excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail
- The ability to work to tight deadlines and adaptable to working in a fast paced environment
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Demonstrable experience managing complex international travel and executive-level events
- Gravitas to gain credibility with Senior and Executive stakeholders
- Educated to A-Level / degree standard
- Previous experience in the education and/or legal sector is desirable.
