Job Purpose

To design and deliver engaging English language learning experiences aligned with the school's academic standards and curriculum, fostering students’ linguistic proficiency, critical thinking, communication skills, and preparation for international English certifications and future academic success.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, teach, and assess High School English courses in accordance with curriculum requirements.
  • Create engaging and differentiated learning experiences that address diverse student needs.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report student progress and achievement.
  • Prepare students for international English language certifications such as Cambridge B2 First (FCE) and IELTS.
  • Promote the consistent use of English in the classroom.
  • Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, coordinators, and families to support student development.
  • Participate in meetings, professional development activities, and school events.
  • Maintain accurate academic records and follow institutional policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Education, Languages, Literature, Linguistics, or a related field.
  • Compliance with UNAM and institutional requirements, when applicable.
  • Master’s Degree in Education or a related field is desirable.

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of teaching experience in English Language Arts, ESL, EFL, or a related area.
  • Experience preparing students for international English certifications is highly desirable.
  • Experience with differentiated instruction and diverse learning styles.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Advanced English proficiency (C1-C2 CEFR), supported by an internationally recognized certification (CPE, IELTS Academic, TOEFL iBT, or equivalent).
  • Strong classroom management and positive discipline practices.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Planning, organization, and time management.
  • Knowledge of curriculum design, assessment strategies, and educational technology.
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and professional ethics.
